THE MYSTERY SPOT is open 365 days of the year.We have many opportunities for seasonal guides throughout the summer, spring break and holiday seasons as well as year round. College and High School students are encouraged to apply, however we allow all applicants. During the academic year the guides who wish to work year-round, are on a part-time basis may commensurate with their class schedules.
During our winter season guides are expected to work during every school break: Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, and Spring Break. During our summer season, Memorial Day -- Labor Day, full-time and part-time positions are available.
All employees are trained in all aspects of work at The Mystery Spot and are required to work in all of the following areas: Tour Guide, Clean-up, Parking Lot Attendant, Ticket Seller, Phone Ticket Seller, Gift Store Cashier, Greeter. We do not hire for select positions as all of our staff work in all areas within any given week.
Tour guides need to be timely, personable, flexible, and well spoken. Creativity and personality are important. Each tour guide will take one forty five-minute tour per hour. Each tour will consist of up to 25 people. There are seven demonstrations on the tour, each of which requires an explanation. Accurate and appropriate information must be relayed as per mystery spot approval. Tour quality is your number one focus, but tour guides are also responsible for keeping the mystery spot clean and orderly, customer relations in person and as well as on the phone, and at times parking cars and keeping traffic flowing and all the things needed to keep the Mystery Spot running well. We are open 365 days a year, holidays and weekends are our busiest business days. All guides are required to work holidays. Upon being hired, each guide is issued a uniform being required and necessary for your day. Employees may not smoke anywhere on the grounds of the Mystery Spot. For tours to leave on time employees are required to arrive to work on time. Tour guides make up a critical component of the Mystery Spot team.
